Jessie Chung’s Album Certified Platinum, Gives up Offer as A-mei’s Guest Artist

Good news just keep rolling in for Princess of Rock Jessie Chung! After a thousand fans attended Jessie’s launching show in Dongguan, Guangzhou, China, Future Entertainment & Music Group Australia brought in the electrifying news: There You Are is now certified platinum!

On Thursday afternoon, Future Entertainment & Music Group Australia held the “There You Are Platinum Award Press Conference” at SPAC in Shah Alam. Jessie Chung’s There You Are has stayed in the top ten of the international chart for eight consecutive weeks, an applaudable accomplishment. In addition, the album has been climbing at full speed up Baidu’s Music Chart, reaching the dizzy heights of 6th place as of December 30th.

Chairman of the Recording Industry Association of Malaysia (RIM) and Managing Director of Warner Music Malaysia & Singapore Darren Choy praised, “Jessie’s previous album There You Are was really well-received and popular. This fact can be further established by the music videos in it, which has each garnered more than one million views on YouTube, this is an achievement that you rarely see. Moreover, her new album Be Strong has been going from strength to strength, so far its total views on YouTube has already surpassed one million in a short period, congratulations.”

General Manager of Malaysia’s physical record distributor PMP Entertainment Mr. Wong expressed that Jessie Chung’s certified platinum record is a rarity, a scarcely seen feat in this age where physical record sales are unpopular among the masses. In three months, There You Are’s total sales exceeded more than 15,000 copies, this is something local artists of today have trouble achieving. Besides, the newly released album Be Strong has already sold nearly 5,000 copies in a week; the results are just remarkable.

Jessie Lays Bare Her Reason for Singing

Upon receiving her first platinum certified album, Jessie Chung couldn’t help but express her joy and bare her soul to the conference attendees. Although successful in her business, she chose to carry on her music career to send positive messages to and help the emotionally wounded. While discussing about the victims who committed suicide due to cyber bullying, Jessie began to sob and divulged that she has always been despised by many due to her special identity. While in Canada, her insecurities even pushed her to a point where she almost committed suicide. Thankfully, on the day she decided to end her life, God saved her and gave her a chance to comprehend the meaning of her life, which is strengthening the weak so they can survive in a world of hate.

“I accepted this calling. I told God ‘Here I am’, which is why my album ‘There You Are’ came into existence.” As she finished her speech, Jessie Chung took a deep bow towards the crowd and expressed her gratitude to all the supporting media and fans as she shed more tears.

Gives up Guest Artist Slot at A-mei’s Concert

Since the announcement that Jessie will be the opening guest artist for the A-mei Utopia World Tour 2.0 (Utopia Carnival) in Genting Highlands in February 17th and 18th next year, Facebook became a heated battlefield between Jessie’s fans and haters who have nothing better to do. CEO of Jessie Chung’s record label Future Entertainment & Music Group Australia Gary Scallan, incensed about Jessie getting cyber bullied with personal attacks and slanderous comments, insisted to pull her out of the concert.

During the press conference, Gary Scallan sent a video to officially announce that Jessie Chung will no longer be A-mei’s opening guest artist. The reason is to protect Jessie from receiving more wounds from cyberbullies. Director of Symphony Musical House Brian Choot then added that the company has invested a large amount of effort and capital to reinvent Jessie Chung, and her accomplishments so far are looking quite good, she has garnered many fans around the world. What’s incomprehensible is that a small group of senseless trolls with no good intentions are still inciting trouble online.

Jessie Chung’s promotional agenda in Bangkok, Thailand was supposed to last for ten days, but because of A-mei’s concert, she shortened her stay to five days so she could return to Malaysia before the 17th; since she no longer has to open for A-mei, Jessie Chung will continue her promotional activities in Thailand.

CEO Wages War Against Cyberbullying

In his speech, Brian Choot said, “In reality, since Jessie Chung’s change in identity, she has endured a plethora of hurtful comments throughout the last ten years or so. We had always chose to remain silent, to ignore, to let those offenders slide, but the comments this time are smearing our artist’s reputation, so we’ve chosen to rise up from silence, we’ve decided to speak up.” He stated that Gary Scallan was infuriated when he was notified about the slanderous comments, and has announced a cease and desist order against them. Ignorant commenters have one week to delete all defamatory comments or risk facing legal charges from the company.

Brian Choot also took the opportunity to refute the accusations from many internet users that Jessie Chung had paid money to become A-mei’s opening guest artist. “For every performance, Jessie receives a paycheck of five to six figures, and last year she has opened a huge solo concert and many concerts and stage plays. Why does she need to pay her way to become a guest artist?” He also exhorts the online users who are spreading lies and accusing Jessie Chung of hiring netizens to defend her to be more fair and honorable.

In response to the accusations brought on by many internet trolls that Jessie has hired internet users to fend them off and counterattack, the fans present at the conference all stated that they defended Jessie on their own will without receiving a single penny. Brian Choot expressed that anyone who knows Jessie Chung will understand that the reason why she is promoting her album across the globe is to help others and call together a group of caring individuals who are concerned about others, because her lone strength is still limited.

Jessie Disappointed by Missed Opportunity

When asked about her feelings in an interview afterwards, Jessie said with a bit of regret, “I’ve always been a fan of A-mei, and when I heard that I was invited to be her guest artist I jumped with joy, but afterwards when my Australian company heard that I was only opening for her, instead of being her guest artist, they had a lot to say about it.” To make things worse, the internet soon erupted with a heap of baseless comments. To take care of and protect their artist, the company decided to withdraw her out of this particular performance.

In regard to the malicious comments online, Jessie Chung, who is optimistic by disposition, has seen through it all already. “The comments are of little importance to me, many of A-mei’s fans actually told me that they were excited about me opening for their star. The trolls who made a commotion were only a small portion, so I wouldn’t pay too much attention to them.”

Future Entertainment has made plans for Jessie to release and promote her album in Thailand, Taiwan, Hangzhou, Beijing, Guangzhou, Australia, Canada, and South Africa. After her world tour, she will return to Malaysia in December next year to perform to a crowd of five thousand people at her solo concert in Genting Highlands.

我对上帝说Here I am,所以这张《There You Are》的专辑就出来了。”

China-leg of World Tour Opens, Jessie Chung Receives Unwanted Kiss From Fan at Dongguan

Princess of Rock Jessie Chung touched down in China on December 23rd! Donning a flashy, candy-red jacket, Jessie turned Dongguan upside down without breaking a sweat!

Upon the release of the new album Be Strong, Jessie Chung began to travel around the world to promote her new baby. The launching show in Shah Alam, Malaysia overflowed with more than 2,000 fans, while the Dongguan show also attracted around 1,000 Chinese fans who were eager to experience an emotionally uplifting performance. As Jessie Chung stepped off her flight at the Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport, swarms of fans rushed forward to greet the singer, asking for autographs and requesting to take photos with her. Helpless, Jessie had to wait for the airport security to disperse the crowd and make way so she could leave the airport.

After attending the press conference at the Parklane Hotel Dongguan, Jessie Chung prepared to perform that very same night. Passion seemed to be at an all-time high for her Dongguan fans. The moment Jessie appeared on stage, fans bolted to the front of the stage to catch a better view of her. Many fans attempted to rush on stage, but were stopped by personnel. Seeing the situation, personnel lined the stage to separate the eager fans from their idol. Despite all the precautions, Jessie Chung was still harassed by two male fans who gave her an unwanted kiss right on stage while presenting her flowers. Luckily, her bodyguards quickly pulled the fans away, preventing them from advancing any further with their misconduct.

“It’s hard to imagine how crazy the fans in Dongguan are, after leaving the venue, I could still hear them cheering and screaming from the outside,” said Jessie with astonishment.

Promotional activities and launching shows of Jessie Chung’s Be Strong will soon cover the whole Malay Peninsula and East Malaysia. The next stop will be on December 31st, 8pm at Paradigm Mall in Kelana Jaya; on the very next day, Jessie will see her fans at AEON Bukit Tinggi at 3pm to celebrate the arrival of 2017!

Princess of Rock Jessie Chung Attracts Crowd of 2,000 at First 《Be Strong》World Tour Stop

Having nearly topped two international charts with two second place spots, Princess of Rock Jessie Chung strikes back with the release of her new English album Be Strong! With a series of shows already launched and completed in Malaysia, Jessie is now set to rock the whole world! Last Sunday, her first stop at Shah Alam attracted over 2,000 fans, cramming the Shah Alam Performing Arts Centre all the way to the ceiling!

As fans began to pour into the venue, many realized that there won’t be enough space, but squeezed in nevertheless, filling every available space. Although the organizer has already set up a huge LED screen outdoors so that fans who didn’t get inside could still view the concert live, fervent fans were still willing to be packed like sardines so they could see Princess of Rock Jessie Chung in person. Fans who couldn’t get in, despite still having the opportunity to watch outdoors, expressed their disappointment.

Then show opened with Jessie Chung stepping on stage with a candy red jacket as four blonde-haired dancers joined her to dance to the rhythm. For this world tour, Jessie has done quite a lot of work, especially in choreography. She spent a great deal of time honing her dance moves with her dancers, all in hope of giving her fans the greatest auditory and visual appeal possible. It’s apparent that Jessie isn’t someone who would give a lackluster performance.

At her launching show, Jessie performed ten songs in her albums Be Strong and There You Are, at times mesmerizing the crowd and other times bringing them to their feet. The excitement level of her fans brimmed to a boiling point when she sang her last two songs “I Don’t Care” and “Feel My Love” with an African American accent.

As Jessie Chung moved on to her lead single Be Strong, she told the crowd, “We may stumble and fall, but we cannot stay down. When faced with problems, we should overcome them instead of letting them overcome us. Everybody can Be Strong.” Jessie also expressed that she no longer cares whether people like her or not, she has decided that no matter how people treat her, she will continue to love them, because love is a decision. At the show approached the end, she yelled at the crowd, “Can you feel my love?” As the fans roared back in unison, Jessie completed the show with her hit song “Feel My Love”, an energizing anthem teeming with electro dance beats.

With the great response brought on by the first show, Jessie expresses with excitement, “I get stronger every time I sing, and I hope that friends who are in love with my songs can also be stronger and stronger.” Jessie will be flying to Dongguan for her second show on December 23rd, 2016.

At the end of the concert, Jessie also signed a deal with Janesce Skincare, an Australian corporation, as the official brand ambassador of its natural skincare product line.

JESSIE CHUNG HOLDING STRONG Newly-Crowned "Princess of Rock" Releases Another English Album

Nothing is stopping Jessie Chung from breaking barriers. After the successful debut of her English album There You Are***, she is back with another new album Be Strong in only a few months!

Gary Scallan, CEO of Future Entertainment and Music Group Australia flew all the way to Malaysia to join Darren Choy, managing director of Warner Music Malaysia and Singapore for the Be Strong album launching. Together, they presented her a diamond-studded electric guitar, and put a crown on her to mark her new “Princess of Rock” title.

“We see in Jessie an incredible potential in the pop-rock genre,” said Gary. “Jessie is, and will, become the new-generation Princess of Rock,” he added. Formerly known as “Detox Princess”, Gary believes that Jessie will live up to her new “Princess of Rock” title.

Managing director of Warner Music Malaysia, Darren Choy admires Jessie Chung for not being conformed to the so-called ‘standards’ of society. “She is not afraid to be herself, and that is what fascinates us the most. She made her mark in the music scene by her own hard work, and is now striving towards the pinnacle of her career. Jessie performed astoundingly in the pop-rock scene, and I’m sure she well-deserved the ‘Princess of Rock’ title.” said Darren.

Despite still recovering from sunburns that she got while filming Be Strong music video in the Pinnacles Desert and Lancelin, Australia, Jessie attended the press conference flawlessly, wearing a FaceAward diamond watch, which she has endorsed recently. Jessie couldn’t help but to spill the beans of going braless for the first time, “At that time, I finally overcame my fears by donning a halter top. However, the director wasn’t really satisfied, so he asked me if I was willing to go braless, and I said yes! All for delivering a great music video!” she said.

The thought of going braless never came to her mind before, so she had to be ready on the spot. She didn’t even notify her husband about it. “I really gave the music video my all!” said Jessie.
Fully produced in Australia, Be Strong includes seven tracks and is set to give a new kind of experience to Jessie’s existing and new fans. Aside from 15 showcases in Malaysia alone, Jessie will embark on a world tour to Taiwan, Australia, London, New York, Canada, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, China, Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, and other places to promote her latest offering.

Be Strong Tracklist: / 1. Be Strong / 2. Captured My Heart / 3. Forever Young / 4. Possibility / 5. I Don’t Care / 6. Love Is Coming Home / 7. Feel My Love. Two singles Be Strong and Forever Young are released along with the music video on YouTube recently.

***There You Are, Jessie Chung’s album prior to Be Strong, is one of the best-selling albums. Being the only Malaysian to be on Taiwan’s Five Music International Chart, Jessie Chung topped artistes like Sia, Ariana Grande and Celine Dion. She ranked higher than Lady Gaga on Taiwan’s iRadio International Chart. Her music videos exceeded 3 million views on YouTube within 2 months of release.
