Marcus was caught cheating Jessie begs third person to leave

《Afterglow》is a stage play adapted based on real persons, and a true story starring international artist Jessie Chung, Marcus Choot, Jennifer Chong, Lily Lim, Taiwanese-American music director John Lee, as well as lead actor Paul Lee. The stage play depicts 4 elements of love, including “Puppy Love”, “Embracing Love”, “Complicated Love” , “Remorseful Love”, all presented by the above mentioned 6 actors and actresses through the stage play.

In the play, Marcus acts as a gallery owner, and writes about an extramarital affair, together with a female painter. In order to save thier parents’ marriage, the children faced up the challenge with courage, and went through a tough process in the midst of overcoming the obstacles.

Jessie Chung played as a rich girl who strongly opposes money worshipping while is dedicated to love. In order to save marriage, she humbled herself and cried as she gently begged the “third person” to leave.

As for the “beating scene” mentioned in the press conference, it turns out to be Marcus’ gentle hands that hit Jessie’s buttock. This was an unanticipated scene for the audiences, as the crowd was cheering to show their support! Jessie actually interacted with the audience in several scenes, and this really had surprised the audience!

The stage play《Afterglow》 consists of various scenes ranging from the  “one-man-show” scenes as well as unexpressed scenes.  During the “no dialogue” sessions, she cordially invited a loving young couple to the stage. On the other hand, Marcus expressed the main ideas and the essence of the play in the same “zero dialogue” session during the ending of the play.

In addition to the theme song of the drama that shares the same name as “Afterglow” including Jessie’s “Love in You” album, the Taiwanese-American producer also tailormade 3 episodes “It’s complicated”, “Love you”,and “Don’t be Afraid” creating an ambience of romance and sweetness, which certainly is a surplus for the play. One of them is the great masterpiece that includes English, Korean, and Chinese, three languages version.

Towards the end, the play has a common message for everyone “Sending blessings to others is a kind of love, giving is a kind of love, letting go is a kind of love. Perhaps, concession is to send our blessings to others, on the hint sight, we are inviting more abundance and happiness into our lives. 《Afterglow》allows people to ponder upon the essence of marriage. I hope the audience will bring “genuine love”, “forgiveness” as well as “humility” back in their homes.

Symphony Theatre has specially decorated the “Symphony Arts Gallery”, displaying the original works of painting done by the actors and actresses for benevolent people to bid for donations. After the audience had watched the play and left the theatre, they were more able to appreciate the scenes from the play and some even bought the paintings too, as this has given them a very “virtually real” feeling. All paintings sold will be channelled to the cancer patients fund.

The “Afterglow" drama has recently completed 4 show sessions and all tickets for the first 4 shows were completely sold out. Currently, there are still 2 more show sessions to be staged during the weekends, hope all of you would grab your chance and buy the tickets before they got sold out.
