Hiatus from Malaysian Entertainment Industry
Immediately after finishing the tenth performance of her Exquisite Chinese Orchestra Concert, the eighth showing of herMoonlight Stage Play, and her tenth year anniversary, Jessie Chung was urged by Warner Music and her Australian music production company to finish recording her new album in Australia. With such a tight schedule, she had a hard time catching her breath during the last few months. As a matter of fact, this new album has already been prepared as early as April this year. However, in order to raise funds for the cancer foundation, Jessie Chung was forced to put it off to devote herself fully in charity.
Jessie Chung, who was previously wholly dedicated in the Moonlight Stage Play, had to leave the limelight of the Malaysian stage so she could finish up the production of her upcoming album. Nevertheless, Jessie has stated that she would find time to take part in the touring stage play. She wishes that more cancer patients will be benefited from the charity events.
Praises from Renowned Musician
Jessie Chung’s new English album, There You Are contains a total of eight songs, including two slow rock ballads, two up-tempo rock songs, and four instrumentals. For Jessie, who typically sings midtempo and soulful songs, this is a new challenge. Currently, she has finished three songs, and producer Andy has expressed his satisfaction with Jessie.
Andy James Court is a renowned Australian veteran musician who was the king of rock ‘n’ roll in Australian during his early years in his career. After leaving the stage he continued to devote himself in the music industry by composing songs and writing lyrics for singers all around the world. He has won over thirty international music awards and was the recipient of the 2015 Song of the Year Award.
Producer Gives Two Thumbs Up
Producer Andy has stated that Jessie’s voice and vocal techniques are beautiful and beyond his expectations. He was very surprised after working with her. During production, Jessie easily fulfilled all his requirements; her tone, pitch, and emotions were all picture-perfect. Andy said that during production, many singers have a hard time attaining perfection and therefore require the producer to put in a lot of time during audio post production. However, Jessie’s voice is very suitable for rock, so production was quite a breeze for him.
What surprised him even more was that Jessie, who isn’t a native English speaker, sang with such an accurate accent that he couldn’t help but put two thumbs up at one point during the recording session. Andy only used two hours to finish recording the track Forever Young. After the session, he exclaimed, “This is what I call world-class!”

Jessie's new English album There You Are is expected to be officially released in August. As for the fashion styling and album's design, Jessie has revealed that it will be done in a Western-styled rock concept; when the time comes, everyone will be able to see a fresh, new “Western-styled Jessie”. In order to retain the Western flavor of the songs, the four MVs will be shot in Australia.
